Presto Geosystems GEOBLOCK & GEOBLOCK5150

Over-taxed storm sewer systems due to population growth and environmental regulations resulting from the implementation of the NPDES Phase II create significant concerns and issues that many communities must now address. Presto's GEOBLOCK® porous pavement systems, with either aggregate or topsoil/grass infill, offer solutions to many of the resulting problems with low environmental impact and high environmental benefit. These permeable systems address areas of stormwater retention/control, environmental and aesthetic issues and structural support.

The GEOBLOCK® system is a series of permeable, high-strength, interlocking units designed to offer turf protection and load support in traffic areas. The units create a flexible structural bridge system within the topsoil layer to support and distribute concentrated loads. The GEOBLOCK® system is available in two styles to most cost-effectively accommodate light-to-heavy load requirements. The GEOBLOCK®5150 porous pavement system provides vehicular and pedestrian load support over grass areas while protecting the grass from the harmful effects of the traffic. The GEOBLOCK® is available for light load application.

The properly designed and installed GEOBLOCK® systems can provide all load support requirements while allowing for maximum groundwater replenishment and minimizing runoff. Vegetated porous pavement systems can maintain its aesthetic appeal while preventing potential pollutants from entering the stormwater system.

Environmental regulations that control and limit stormwater runoff, reduce impervious surfaces, and increase green space have resulted in the growth of permeable pavements for traffic areas. The GEOBLOCK® porous pavement system offers support for all vehicular loadings and protects the grass from the damaging effects of traffic, while allowing natural groundwater replenishment.
