Extended-Term Erosion Control Blanket
EG-2C & EG-2C NN Blanket Systems
Coconut Fiber Slope and Channel Protection for Tougher Site Conditions
When slopes get steeper or channels start carrying stronger flow, temporary protection may not be enough. EG-2C and EG-2C NN are built with a 100% pure coconut fiber matrix to provide stronger erosion protection while vegetation establishes.
EG-2C is designed for demanding slope and channel applications, while EG-2C NN adds natural netting for projects where biodegradable materials and reduced plastic concerns matter.
Where EG-2C Fits
EG-2C is used when project teams need extended-term erosion control performance for steeper slopes, channels, and areas where runoff energy can create rapid soil loss.
One Coconut Matrix. Two Netting Options.
Both EG-2C and EG-2C NN use a 100% pure coconut fiber matrix at 0.50 lbs/yd². The key difference is the netting system, giving engineers, contractors, and owners flexibility based on performance needs, environmental expectations, and project specifications.
EG-2C
A coconut fiber erosion control blanket built with UV-stabilized polypropylene plastic netting for demanding slopes and high-flow channel applications.
Matrix: 100% pure coconut fibers
Matrix Weight: 0.50 lbs/yd²
Netting: Two layers of medium-weight UV-stabilized black polypropylene plastic
Opening: 0.5″ x 0.5″
Thread: 1000 denier UV-stabilized split yarn
Recommended Use: Slopes up to 1:1 and high-flow channels
EG-2C NN Natural Net
A natural-net coconut fiber erosion control blanket designed for extended-term protection where biodegradable materials are preferred.
Matrix: 100% pure coconut fibers
Matrix Weight: 0.50 lbs/yd²
Netting: Fully biodegradable organic jute fiber top and bottom net
Opening: 1.0″ x 0.5″
Thread: Biodegradable yarn with 1.5″ x 2.0″ stitching pattern
Longevity: Up to 24 months, depending on environmental conditions
Recommended Use: Slopes from 2:1 to 1:1 and medium-flow channels
Installation Guidance
For both EG-2C and EG-2C NN, the leading edge should be trenched into a 6″ deep trench and the blanket should be placed parallel to the anticipated water flow. When more than one blanket is required, overlap all sides by 6″ and install in a shingle-type pattern to help prevent water from getting underneath the blanket.
When the slope or channel is more demanding, blanket selection matters.
EG-2C and EG-2C NN help provide stronger erosion control protection before runoff becomes rework, delay, or compliance trouble.
Why Choose EG-2C NN Natural Net?
Because some projects need more than erosion control. They need durable performance during establishment without relying on plastic netting in the final site condition.
Biodegradable Jute Netting
EG-2C NN uses fully biodegradable organic jute fiber for both the top and bottom netting, giving project teams a natural-net option for sensitive or specification-driven applications.
Extended-Term Protection
EG-2C NN is designed as an extended-term erosion control blanket with functional longevity up to 24 months, depending on environmental conditions.
Coconut Fiber Performance
The 100% pure coconut fiber matrix provides durable cover and helps protect the soil surface while vegetation develops.
Better Fit for Sensitive Sites
EG-2C NN is a strong option for naturalized areas, channels, slopes, restoration work, and projects where biodegradable materials are preferred.
